No recount

There will not be a recount after the close election between Lorin Croft and Kurt Russell. A difference of only four votes separated the two. Croft told me that it would cost way too much money for the city and that the votes were counted very thoroughly. Croft has served the city faithfully for many years and should be thanked for his civic participation as a council member, regardless of whether you voted for him or not.

Just a side note in case anyone was wondering about recounts, an employee at city hall informs me that:
If a candidate would like to file an application for a recount, he must do so within twenty days from canvassing the votes. The votes were canvassed on November 4, 2009. Therefore any candidate would have until the 25th of November to file. He must file with the State Attorney Generals Office. As of today [11/08], I have not heard that any recount will be filed for.
