Results are in!

According to the latest poll data it looks like the mayor of Shelley will remain but he will be working with new members on the city council. Last night roughly 480 Shelley citizens made their voices heard regarding who was to be at the helm of city government for the next four years. Residents cast their votes overwhelming in favor of incumbent mayor Eric Christensen. Christensen won a third term by beating out the young challenger Tyler Olsen. But it was not the same story for council member incumbents Lorin Croft and Steve Cederberg. Cederberg lost his bid for re-election by 48 votes and in a tight race Croft lost to challenger Kurt Russell by a mere four votes. No word yet if a recount will take place.

In 2000, Shelley had 3,813 residents, making the total percentage of those who participated somewhere around 13%. Granted, many new residents have moved into this area since 2000 and the 2010 census data should prove revealing.
